University or Apprenticeship??? watch

    • Thread Starter

Im struggling to decide what to do as i have do know within 3 months or so which doesn't help. :/ There are multiple things that i love an want to do that universities have courses for but then whats more important is that what job can i get from that degree and it just always seems totally different to what i want to do. Thats why im also considering apprenticeships although im not too familiar with them.

    All comments are appreciated

Apprenticeships are great for certain careers. You get paid to work and learn and end up with qualifications and at the best of times a full time job at the end of your course. They aren’t as expensive and can open up many oppurtunities !!

Hi, it's great that you're looking at what doors any degrees can open for you, rather than just looking at the course itself. As with anything, it's important to study what you enjoy, rather than what you think you should study, since the interest and passion you have for the subject will invariably come through in your work and subsequent conversations.

With an apprenticeship it is a full time job with training, where you get paid as you learn. You will be studying a qualification which is relevant to the job you're doing and tailoring that to your needs, and the needs of your employer. If you are not yet certain what it is you want to do, it may be a good idea to try and get work experience, or college qualifications, in different areas so you can narrow down your choices.

Is there particular subjects you like, or do you have any career aspirations? From here you'll be able to figure out your best route.

Doing an apprenticeship doesn't mean you don't get to do a degree - as you can do this later in life.
Have you ever experienced racism/sexism at uni?
