    Hi guys
Hope everything's going well So, I have 4 offers and I dont know which of them to choose from. Do you know which will like a gap year. Im going to Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and potentially Loas does anyone know if I can get work experience there?

I'm worried that Im going to forget things over the year so want to be sure I'll be on top of everything before I go. I know you need to have a good understanding of most anatomy. Ive already had 6 weeks of paediatric surgery experience and 4 weeks on delivery and done some C-sections. I did plastic and CT surgery a few months ago, but I don't know if its enough!

Also, I have some friends at med school at the moment who say we need to have experience in GP. Now, i have had a year of going to a gp practice once a week and have spoken to a lot of patients but not sure I'm doing the right thing.

Obviously, I've been qualified in BLS for 4 years and moving and handling, but my cannulation is really bad and stressful!!!!

Sorry, for all the ramble Im just stressed out, please help!

    Woah... slow down there.

If you have offers, you need to meet them. That's it. Your medical school course will be designed to cover all the formal training you need in the necessary specialties. This is not something you either need or are expected to attempt on your own! A gap year spent doing something useful and contributing is fine, it doesn't matter what it is.

If you mean, you have picked four medical schools to apply to, but haven't yet, you can contact each direct and ask them about their attitudes to a gap year (I'd be surprised if it was a problem) and whether your work experience to date is sufficient. Given what you've set out, I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

As for forgetting things while you are away, I'd really not worry too much about this. There'll be stuff you can read to keep in touch, but you will be given time to 'play yourself back in' at the beginning of the course in any case.

Agree with above. If you have four conditional offers, then you just need to meet the requirement. That is all (and maybe don't do anything shady while you're a way). Do you want to defer entry?? If so, ask. You won't know until you do.

And the first at least semester is supposed to ease you in. If I were you, I would enjoy my time off.
