I REALLY REALLY want to go to Newcastle Uni to study psychology. I got an offer for them of AAB but I believe I can realistically achieve an A in maths, B in chem and a C in phys. I wondered if it would be a good idea to fast track a level psychology for a year in hopes I'll do well in that then apply the year after for the course. Does that sound like a good idea?

You need to concentrate on your current studies and phone Newcastle on Monday morning to ask whether they usually accept applicants with grades below their offer for your course, and if they do what they prioritise when deciding who to accept.

What happens of they don't accept lower grades. I'm thinking of doing this in a gap year, if they don't accept me.

Then it’s even more important to focus on your current studies instead of distracting yourself with daft plans based on your guesswork about what they’re looking for in applicants.
