    Why does reactivity of group 7 decrease as you go down as the atoms get larger. But compared to Groups 1 and 2. They increase reactivity when going down group as atom gets larger. Why is this ?

    G1&2 are "trying" to lose e-. The larger the atoms are, the e- experience less attraction and hence require less energy to lose.

    G7s are trying to gain e-. The smaller they are the more attraction the incoming e- experiences.
