    To provide a bit of backstory I have two cysts on my left ear.
    One of them is fairly big, behind my ear and about the same colour as my skin but maybe a bit whiter. I have had this one as long as I can remember.
    The other one is much smaller and on the side of my earlobe. It is red in colour and I have had it for about 2 years. It started off as an immensely small spot that wasn’t even noticeable and I remember it swelling and becoming redder and bigger over the course of a few days.
    Does anyone have any advice for treating these as I am very self conscious and have been wearing beanies most days for the last few years. I have been referred to a dermatologist by my GP so should be seeing them soon. I have looked online and these are the options I have found;
    Surgically remove both cysts(but causes scarring), use different home remedies like tea tree oil(but I have doubts this will make a difference), get a cortisone injection to reduce swelling and redness, get a needle aspiration to drain the cysts(but they could return using this method) and lastly a course of different acne antibiotics or gels to reduce swelling of cyst( although I doubt this will remove them entirely).
    The only option that will remove them entirely seems to be surgical removal but this will cause obvious scars. The next best option is probably needle aspiration or a cortisone injection but they may return.
    Any advice as to which option you guys would go for would be really appreciated.

    Honestly I think you have done the research and need to waut to see what the dermatologist says.

    The antibiotics can be tried as its non invasive, so nothing to lose.
    I think you would also benefit from looking at some pictures of cysts scarring so you can make up your own mind whether treatment is worse than cure. It may or may not look as bad as you think.

    I have heard of some cysts being treated with liquid nitrogen and frozen off.

    Also the needle aspiration if it gets rid of them, then you just have to ask how long and how quickly they might return.

    I would listen to the derma and start with least invasive treatments bearing advice on effectiveness.

    From watching all the pimple popping videos,
    I have heard the whole cyst sac has to be removed otherwise there's a bigger chance of them returning?
    So I'd definitely do surgery, no one will be bothered about tiny ear scars (One which is behind your ear and no one will see).
    Plus if the other cyst is small I doubt there will be any scarring, it's just a possibility.
