I am in a fairly competitive program at school and keeping my GPA up is necessary to secure a job down the line. That being said, I want to take classes outside of my major that I am interested in, but don't know if it is worth the risk of getting a lower grade. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? What did you do?

Focus on your major, that's what you're there for. Learning extra skills, unless directly related to your job, comes second and after getting good grades. Do it after uni.
