Say that I wanted to apply for either Medicine or Dentistry but of course want a backup like Nursing or Optometry,

Would I be able to apply for different courses at different universities through UCAS?

My friend, a graduated nurse, says that you can only apply for the same course at every university choice since you can only use the same personal statement.

My plan was to apply for:

    • Dentistry at Newcastle University
    • Medicine at Leeds University
    • Nursing at the University Of Manchester
    etc.

I just want to know if it’s possible.

dentist and nursing is very similar but medicine is not. you can chose the similar one. those course are same and remember when you write personal statement you should tell them why you are interested those field other wise you can chose only one subject
and last you can apply for two subject not access.

It’s possible, yes. But, you get one personal statement for all universities. So, applying for 3 different courses is difficult to tailor your PS to that one subject.

The only exception to this rule, is medicine applicants. You can only apply to 4 Uni’s for Mrs, and your 5th choice must be a different course. So, it may be wise to consider your 4 either Medicine or Dentistry applications, then have a Nursing course as your 5th.

You need to fundamentally decide between medicine and dentistry. An application trying to satisfy both courses will fail and lead to rejections. For medicine you should apply to the max of 4 medschools.

That said your 5th choice after 4 medicine choices could indeed be nursing.

Note the early deadline for medicine applicants. You can add your 5th choice later (but your personal statement remains the same).
