Is there anyone who is currently doing ICSE (India) and thinking about doing their A levels next from home (as attending the International schools here isn't the best use of time). In general does anyone have any advice on doing A levels from home. Is it possible and practical to learn without wasting money on online courses and just using the textbooks and online study guides?

Yes it is possible, but it will require you to be organised and a dedicated student. Some subjects are more suited than others.
