    Hey guys!

So by the title this post is pretty self-explanatory... Bascially, I am moving to a new school to start Year 12 and I finally want to take art since it's my one true interest. The only drawback is that I need an Art grade B or above or an assessed portfolio. I'm sure that if I stick to a plan, I can produce a portfolio but my only question is how should I go about doing this? Can anyone provide me with some step-by-step instructions or guide? How long should this be? Is there anything I have to focus on?

I talked to the art teacher at school and she recommended this:
    - Use mixed media
    - Include my own photos
    - Produce small-scale and large-scale work
    - Take inspiration from artists and produce work based on that

Anyways, I'd appreciate you guys helping me out since I finally want to focus on art and leave behind the sciences and math that I hate!

Looks like the teacher has given you good guidance. You can also google art portfolios for GCSE online and lots of hits come up.

Do what the teacher says and try to show a range of skills.

Download the GCSE or GCE specification and cover some of the areas. The teacher just needs to see you have enough potential and wide ranging skills to be able to cope with the course.
