this is a genuine question ok

does masturbating interfere with progress in terms of revision for a level exams. e.g if i fap twice a day but revise can i still get a*s.

some people told me that if i fap i get brain fog and become dumber or less motivated so i shouldnt fap coming up to exams. it feels amazing and relaxes me but a levels are more important to me so idk wat to do pls help me. thank u.
Richard Feynman was known to be a crazed sex addict, and yet he is truly a remarkable figure and often referred to as a genius. Einstein was known to be a chronic masturbator.

However, many sources claim that a halt in ejaculatory pleasures lead to higher states of thinking, increased motivation and will, more focus and concentration. I suggest you experiment and see what happens.

Your friend is right, check out nofap. (Though you only do it for 90 days) Once 90 days have passed exams will be over and you can choose to return to masturbation. But I'd recommend you avoid pornography for good regardless.

No pornography -> No masturbation (lots of guys can't masturbate without porn anymore) -> More energy (more semen in your balls) -> Better concentration -> More studying done -> Better grades.

You don't need science to back this up, many men have known this throughout history, e.g. monks in Ancient China.

In criticism of this, it would seem that the immense semen build up in the testicles would in fact cause possible inflammation in the testes region. This could result irritation, frustration and therefore less concentration. So I can understand the perspective that ceasing to masturbate could actually mean less revision because of lower concentration

Actually this is very true. When there's a build up of semen the gonads realise this and you end up having a nocturnal emission when you're sleeping, i.e. a wet dream. Though if there's some sort of medical condition that prevents a nocturnal emission, what you described could certainly happen. I'm not a medical doctor per se, but I find this type of stuff really interesting.

I'm sorry, I thought you were able to look up stuff without having your hand held.

It's seventy years since Sexual Behaviour in the Human Male was first published. TL;DR: although then taboo, masturbation was almost universal in the histories of the thousands of men Kinsey et al grilled and the only harmful effects were guilt and fear they were doing it 'too much'.

Anyone telling you otherwise almost invariably wants you to abstain from sex outside heterosexual marriage, but - Kinsey again - the body does not distinguish between ejaculations depending on whether they were from masturbation, oral sex, pre-marital intercourse, marital intercourse, sex with other men, or anything else.

Perhaps it is true, that indeed the effects of masturbation to pornography (assuming you did in fact pleasure yourself to the mentioned explicit content) has a negative impact on the body and the mind, and does indeed cause extremely harmful damage to the human spirit.

I suggest you use the remaining willpower you have to master what I assume this addiction you have. Tesla was known to retain his semen for his whole life and is now regarded history's greatest genius. Maybe this resistance will channel the remaining energy you have, and push you beyond feats unimaginable. Good luck my friend

Wow, you sound very salty. Oh wait... I forgot this is the internet. You can be rude to people because you're just typing at a screen. As a 'community assistant' you aren't setting a very good example by being rude. I hope you get your title revoked.

So you condone there are no harmful effects of masturbation? This is clearly wrong. There's many people who suffer from pornography addiction. These days masturbation and pornography are like bread and butter so there's no point looking at them separately Some do it around 5 times a day. Side effects include: anxiety, depression, relationship problems and reduced grey matter in the brain. This means that there are fewer neurons in the pleasure centre of the brain. E.g. dopamine problems develop. This makes the brain crave more and more just like with a recreational drug addict (heroin, cocaine, etc).

This coming from someone who's opening comment was "Enjoy your erectile dysfunction kiddo"...

You're looking at osteopaths - purveyors of treatment that might be useful for lower back pain but have absolutely nothing to do with mental health, sexual behaviour or even general health - for their thoughts on this?!?

The AOA are the bunch that tried to sue someone for pointing out that 'craniosacral therapy', the osteopathic idea that lightly touching the head can cure things like cancer, is quackery. The fact that they endorse this should suggest something to you.

If you bothered to look at Kinsey instead you'll see that there were men in his survey doing it more often than five times a day. The widespread availability of porn is nothing new either.

I'm happy to agree that Sturgeon applies and the vast majority of porn is crap, and that trying to learn about sex from it is like learning to drive from watching The Fast & The Furious 57 (or whatever they're up to now).

Gone in 60 Seconds might be useful for both activities
