    Hello everyone !

I'm French and I really would like to study for a Meng in chemistry at Imperial, i already got an offer from UCL, but i'm still waiting for Imperial.

As a French, it is really uncommon to make a loan for studies as it is low price, so it is a bit weird and scary for my family and I to imagine doing one.
To pay it back quickly, i would like to work in the US. Indeed, the salary are really confortable for engineers. See below.

My question is, is it easy and how can I work in the US with my Meng from Imperial.
Is it hard to enter in the US ?
Are great universities like Imperial very well seen by recruiters ?
Is there any partnership with the UK/Universities to enter easier in the US ?

    Thank you !

Imperial as year abroad programmes with Columbia, Carnegie Mellon and University of California.

Tbh, Imperial has a great reputation in Asia and Europe, but more hit and miss in America. Academics in universities will have heard of it, but I don't know about employers. If its a big firm, probably, if not, then it's unlikely.

I Imagine getting a visa might be hard but someone else can fill you in on that part.

Imperial will also have a exchange programme with MIT too

Studying in an US universities during an exchange can maybe help, doesn't it ?

And moreover, Imperial also has a really good world universty rank. Can't I use this for a job ?

Of course, it's just a question of the mentality in America. Idk how often they query rankings for foreign applicants.

It's their loss at the end of the day, there's no point blaming yourself if you're going to one of the best engineering schools in the world
