Not learning anything in apprenticeship watch

I’m 6 months in on a gas engineering apprenticeship. I’m 17. It’s 3 years in total and I’m 6 months in and all I do is get stuff for the engineer. I’m feel I’m being exploited for cheap labour. All day long I am not allowed to do anything and am not taught anything I just stand and watch and fetch him tools. I’ve tried previously asking him if I can do things and it came to nothing so I gave up. I don’t know what to do.should I quit? I’ve tried speaking to my boss and it came to nothing. I’m thinking of going back to college for a year or doing a business admin apprenticeship for a year just to get another qualification under my belt but I really don’t want to quit what I’m doing now. Any advice would be great. Thank you
