Nope. You've paid for the education, you can walk out whenever you like. A lecturer may get annoyed if you just get up and walk out, but leaving your stuff there is a big indication that you'll be back. You certainly don't need to ask them because they'll be mid flow and there isn't a need to interrupt that.

Tutorial or seminar is possibly slightly different because it's about dialogue between the tutor and student. You can still go to the toilet, but say "I'm just popping to the loo" instead of walking out in silence.
thank you !!

True alphas just do the business right there in the lecture hall.
You can tell them that you need the toilet.

If you have a medical problem which means you need to go to the toilet more than once an hour then it's best to just let them know.
Just get up qiuetly and go.
Or go before the lecture to reduce the chance of needing to leave half-way.
you CAN but people very, very rarely do at university age, unlike in school when we always looked for any excuse to walk out. only leave if you're absolutely desperate
