Right Wing or Left Wing, which one are you and why?

I think it’s ridiculous and foolish for any individual to identify themselves as purely “right-wing” or purely “left-wing”. There are good things about capitalism, but there are bad parts to it. There are good things about socialism, but there are bad parts to it. It’s about finding the balance - and for different individuals, that ‘balance’ will be different.

I also think the ‘left-right’ political spectrum is a bit silly, it’s an overly simplified model to label people’s political views

While what you have is true to an extent , identifying with certain political value is not foolish.

Certain ideologies benefit certain individuals life circumstancea and lead to inherent bias.

To think yourself an intellectual superiour due to not taking sides is misguided and usually only supported by lack of knowledge in the matters at hand.

Also state capitalism was a success and even the most hardcore leftist should be able to admitt that. Espeically in an economic sense socialism has very little over a capitalist state given that there is a dose of government regulation.

I'll just letting people know how sad of an individual you acted. I posted a video of SJW fails and it hit the mark a bit too much. Couldn't handle the banter coming back at you. Very definition of a snow flake.

Hmm you seem to be mistaking me for someone who gives a **** 🤔
Centre-left, I guess. Both sides do have their negatives and somewhat "positives". But I have disagreed more with the right than left, and so maybe that's why I am a bit left leaning. In regards to what's best for the country, it just depends tbh. There's not really a "best" because there will always be a group of people who disagree with each ideology, so ya know.

I am not the biggest fan of politics, but considering that it's becoming a major topic lately, I might as well at least "take a side".
I’m right wing but my entire school is left wing so I get attacked for my beliefs. A lot.

When you get triggered so much you start reporting every post in a back and forth with you to get it removed like a spoilt little brat, you do give ****, lol. You give too much of a **** to the point of ridiculousness. You should be removed from you position. You're not emotional stable enough to do it properly.

Or maybe if you stopped breaking the rules I wouldn't feel compelled to report your posts?

Here's an idea - you stop being a **** and I'll have nothing to report.

Alas, as much as I like your reparte though I have a meeting soon so I'll be off, ta ta.

Breaking the rules is not saying something back in response to your smarmy replies that you don't like. They need to tell you that, snowflake.

I'm pro-choice, pro-immigration, and anti-nationalist, but I'm right wing because I support capitalism, low taxation and free markets.

Do you see the problems with these two labels?

As long as you are aware pro choice makes sense from an economic perspective and is not necessarily 'morally justifiable' by societal standards, you understand the pro immigrations doesnt mean pro influx of useless labour that feeds off welfare and that theres a limit to how much a country can sustain and that while nationalism is not prefered , patriotism is a whole different subject that should be valued and kept along with a countries culture.

What does this mean?

Why do we as human beings always have to develop these overly simplistic, narrow-minded models and spectrums that allow for little to no interpretation? Different people on the right may have varying policy implementations that they prefer, same applies to the left. In saying that I am either left or right wing accomplishes almost nothing, I could still be pro-life, pro-immigration, pro-globalist... We should not be asking "where are you on the political spectrum" instead ask more specific questions like "do you agree with the hyper-globalists vision" or "do you think abortion should be morally plausible", this way we actually progress the debate instead of being stuck on "I'm left wing, I hate ring wing", many people don't even know the difference between the two.

Because without models noone will be able to identify with anything. Yes they are simplistic , yes they are often misleading but they are what society based upon.

From scientific models to geographic to economic to yes... political. They are all simplified to help the human mind navigate through a complex array of information that without some form of primitive guidance and assumption would make no sense of all the variables

It would be if I hadn’t just confused two posters......

I’m going senile in my old age.

Left wing on economic issues. Believe in a high tax, high spend economy with fantastic public services, like in Scandinavia.

Liberal on social issues.

Conservative on constitutional issues. Support FTPT, support the House of Lords, oppose referendums.

The greatest illusion is that life in the Scandinavian countries is any better that that of the West.

I mean they are more equal and they rank higher in terms of happiness. Wages are higher too.
depends on which wing has more meat on it. prefer the drumstick tbh.

yep. this is usually solved by having two scales, one for individual liberties and the other for economic. you're clearly a social left but economic right, which is quite common these days.
