    Hey Cyanide_121,

I didn't personally study the foundation course, but many of my close friends did. And to answer your question, yes they did find it helpful, and some people did end up taking up the Animation course in Ravensbourne once they finished foundation. The Game Design course hasn't started yet, so I can't really give you any info on that yet unfortunately.

The good thing about foundation is that the first month you spend experimenting with many different subjects, which gives you a better perspective of what you can get in to. The only issue here is if you know what you want to do, you have to wait out that month before you can focus on that specific topic.

here is a brief quote of my colleagues experience with foundation:

" before I started my BA in Graphic Design I did a Foundation Diploma here as well. My foundation year was amazing because I got to try and experiment with different things and disciplines before I had to choose a pathway. Doing it in a university setting also helped me network with BA and PG students to wider my skill set with their help. It's a great year to really become independent. That's one of the reasons I would recommend looking into Ravensbourne because we are in a open space building so all the students from Foundation to Bachelors to Postgrad are in the same place learning. The open space plan really allows for a free space for all students to be collaborative and socialise with people they might not have known otherwise. You will have opportunities to work on competitions with other courses from different levels and being a part of Ravensbourne will also allow you to join our RaveAgency to help you find work in your field before even starting your BA. "

One thing I can definitely say is that it is a stepping stone towards getting a better perspective of where the skills you learn can be used, especially if you want to proceed with doing a BA course here at Ravensbourne, because you get to see for yourself the type of work that gets done in the other courses (BA). Plus the overall vibe of the building doesn't change if you choose to stay here, making it easier for you to get right in to the subject without worrying about anything else.

Hope this helps! Come visit one of the open days if you haven't already! it will give you a better overview of foundation here as well as BA if you choose to stay. Plus you will be able to speak to students reps & ambassadors who studied here either on foundation or BA too, if you still want to hear more about the experience directly from the students.

    Kind regards,
    Michail
