If I take a gap year I’m not sure where to go? I am thinking maybe Australia, New Zealand, Canada/USA, South Africa, South America etc but don’t know which to pick???
Also, should I go with a company/volunteer program or just go there and travel around myself? I’m not going to be going with a friend as they are all going to uni or going on a gap year on their own.
What should I do? Also I don’t think I will need a job as I already did have a job and saved up quite a lot from that - or should I still get a job for the first few months after finishing a-levels so I am not bored?

South Africa sounds cool, maybe get a job there too (can’t have to much money and it’s a good way to meet people)

I guess as you have money saved it really depends on what you want to do/go. You could just travel, do a working holiday, volunteer abroad or do something cool. Maybe book a mini round the world ticket and take in multiple destinations? Try to work out what you would enjoy and how much money you have as some places will be more expensive than others.

Perhaps deciding what you want to do in your gap year will help you narrow down your destination options. Do you want to work or volunteer or more so to have fun and gain cultural experiences? Doing a gap year with a company may be a bit more expensive than going to travel alone, but it's usually super structured so you wouldn't have to worry about any logistics. In addition, gap year programs are designed to provide a learning experience so you may gain more value from doing it through a program, as they will hold you accountable to a schedule. But traveling is alone is definitely alot of fun!
