I keep looking at some forums, and I see people saying that they got 6+ A*s. I'm currently in Yr 11 and am predicted two 8's one 9, which are the same as previous A*s. Do you guys think that the GCSE grade boundaries often tend to be lower than the ones used at schools for mocks?

Well probably not usually, however due to the fact that the 9-1 GCSEs are new, there are no grade boundaries, so any which you get from school are guesses, and are likely to be harsher than the real thing.

Yes schools often increase the grade boundaries so that students work harder and don’t get complacent with grades. So yes probably the grade boundaries will be lower

The problem is, except for English and Maths who have last year’s, we have no idea what any grade, let alone a 9 looks like. If you base it on last year’s maths boundaries then they should be rather low, needing around 80% for a 9. Ask your teachers if they have entered your data into or can view the PiXl graph, which should tell you for certain tests where you fall on the grade boundaries, as thousands of students have taken the test.
