    Hello,
I'm in year 11 doing my final year of GCSE's and I have my real exams this year and very soon. I received my results for English Language paper 1 mock and got a 4+ on the writing. How can I improve? If you have any tips any amazing phrases and terminology to revise please let me know. My aim is to get a 6. Thank you.

Just practise answering questions. Make sure you know how to answer the question as well. Look at Mr bruff's videos and use the internet to figure how to structure your writing.

(I'm writing this answer assuming you mean the creative writing task at the end) Something I saw a friend do for the writing which seems pretty genius to me is to write a list of all the different types of punctuation and techniques she could think of to include in the creative writing task and cross them off when she'd added them in her work. Obviously don't force them in but if you can add some sophisticated punctuation and learn some ambitious words (and be able to spell them correctly) you can easily jump up in the spelling and grammar marks which can boost your grade. For the story task, try and use an interesting structural feature - for example, start in the middle of the action, or set up a scenario and use flashbacks to explain how it happened. That will move you up the levels and make it compelling which is what examiners are after. (this is based on the AQA markscheme as that is what I have been doing)
