Can someone explain the distillation preparation for aldehydes and reflux preparation for carboxylic acids?
This is for oxidation of primary alcohols.

If you distil a primary alcohol in the presence of acidified potassium dichromate(VI) you will get an aldehyde. If you heat a primary alcohol with acidified potassium dichromate(VI) but instead use a reflux you will end up with a carboxylic acid.
