And can I ask you some questions?
What are your working hours like? How many hours a week do you typically work? Do you do nights/ weekends/ holidays etc? What specialty are you in? Are you happy with your work-life balance/ do you find it easy to balance your job around your family if you have one?
Do you like your job? Do you find the doctors and other staff open to your role? Do you feel you are being trained and progressing professionally? Do you ever feel resentful or wish you were a doctor instead?
Was it easy to find a job? How did you find it? Did you need to relocate?
I'm tying to work out if this is the career for me. I have read as much as I can find but would value hearing someone's personal experience.
Note: I've read other PA threads on here and they all get derailed sooner or later by someone coming along to say "PAs are just wannabes, if you're so smart why aren't you a doctor?" or something similar. Cue the thread descending into a bun fight. Can this please not happen here? I don't want to wade through 30 pages of arguing to find the useful posts! If you disagree with the PA role please just close the thread and continue with your day!

Thanks, I've actually read a lot of his posts already. It's very interesting and he certainly seems to love his work. I couldn't see anything about the actual practicalities though - hours worked, requirement for nights/ weekends etc. It was a good read though
Most of my searches only lead to me American PA blogs/ forums though so I thought I'd try my luck on here.
