It's been brought to my attention that the first year grades do not count towards the final degree grade. My question is, since they do not then does that mean they won't be included in the final transcript?
Also, let's say for instance someone gets a first class honours but unfortunately that person didn't perform well in the first year and got mediocre grades like 2:2 or a third, can that possibly stain the final degree classification in terms of postgrad studies and employment prospects?

A transcript shows your entire degree from first year to final year - first year would be included in it, even if mediocre grades were achieved. However, they would only show that you persevered and ended up doing well in the end, no one will care too much because people typically only improve as the years go by, most people won’t achieve more than a 2;1 in first year anyway

they are definitely on your transcript, and key to getting vital 2nd year summer internships.

Your transcript will have all your module grades.

And no it won't affect your final degree classification.
