Day 7. Glad I've made it a week :work:

    I did say I'd draw a cat (I'm counting this ok )

Hmm... not really sure what to say here. It was supposed to be an experiment with a limited colour palette (only red and black pens), but I feel like I should have committed to only using blocks of colour (i.e. no 'furriness' or made an effort to blend the red into the white. I'm not sure what went wrong with the paper :dontknow: I used exactly the same paper as I did for the dragon but for some reason this time the paper got way soggier and you can see the direction of my mark making worse. Oh well

New tablet pen should be arriving tomorrow :woo:

    Day 8

Soooooo tablet pen did not arrive today :huff: I wanted to do some more digital stuff anyway so I decided to try something I've never done before, pixel work. Done with a laptop touchpad and MS Paint (proof you don't need fancy materials to do art, anyone can do it )

Overall I think it's ok for a first attempt? T'was fiddly because Paint will only zoom in so far. On reflection I think I should have used an actual apple (or at least a photo) as a reference, and I need to be more confident with using lighter/darker colours. Tints and shades may look vastly different when you're zoomed in, but that's lost when you view the tiny image in full size. This looks a bit... homogenous

The bigger version (size I was working at) may or may not also be attached. TSR is being temperamental.

Sorry to hear about the tablet pen, nothing worse than when something arrives in unusable condition. :grumble:

Quick sketch of a parrot (reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEwRdtkGb6g )

I tried using oil pastels, something I don't think I've done since year 7?! I don't even know why I have them, the box was practically untouched. Admittedly this was a bit of a mess (both the finished product and the process of making it ... you can still see some of the wax... fragment... thingies. Shoulda brushed them off before taking the photo) and I suck badly at blending but I do like the bright colours that oil pastels provide :ahee:

I did want it to look 'sketchy' as neatness and precision is something I find really difficult from drawing materials that are so blunt, but I think I went a bit over the top with the messiness

I think I'll use pastels again but I really need to be more careful next time. At the weekend I'll have time to do something properly

    Day 2:

Not getting enough free time to draw properly today so have a 3 min MS Paint doodle :3

    Attachment 729480

Kinda think the eyes ruin it and that I should have made the shadows extend to the paws but meh, I'll learn from it.
3mins? Mate I can't even draw a stick man that doesn't look horribly deformed in 3 mins :colonhash:

But anyway, the rest of these drawings are absolutely ace, keep it up
