Mastubation

I am a girl and 13 and I have had boys talk about mastubation and some girls say that they love doing it I have tried it and it felt pretty good but don't know If I did it right I would like to know how everyone else did because I not sure I did it right could you please help also should I be doing it at this age or not.
I mean, 13 does sound young to be doing it, but I think I was about 10 when I started. Guys start younger though.
