Anon because this contains information of a personal nature - please don't move to the finance forum so I can stay anon!

I'm currently a third year medical student (five year degree). I already repeated my first year of my degree due to illness affecting my attendance.
I'm currently struggling with attendance again in my third year due to the same illness, and it has been suggested to me to suspend the year and start afresh in september.

Will SFE fund a second repeat year if I provide medical evidence of my situation? Has anyone been in the same dilemma?

    thanks in advance

If you have evidence then they’re pretty reasonable. I would suggest sending evidence for both years you were ill if possible. They will class both repeats as due to “compelling personal reasons” and you will still have your gift year available in future if you need it.

I believe so, I think you are entitled 5 years uni funding.

    I could be wrong.

As the above member stated, try submitting evidence for compelling reasons.

    Good luck

There’s no set number of years. It’s dependant on course length.
