Hell lovely people of TSR! I have offers from both St Andrews and LSE to do History (same offer, AAA). Whilst I am fully aware that these two institutions are wildly different in many respects, I am having huge trouble making a decision as to which one I'd rather attend. Does anyone- who isn't simply going to annihilate either institution in a hate post- have any constructive comments/advice/info to give? Any opinions from people who know either institution and the history courses would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank You (in advance)

I can only say the obvious. The courses are very different, and the environments even more so.

Therefore, which course do you prefer and where would you rather live?

I'm not sure, that's the issue. But thanks for replying all the same

Pick one. Wait a week. Then think 'Do I regret my choice?'

quality of life in London sucks as a student.
Always travelling and everything costs more.

If you dont plan on working in finance, the missed networking events dont really matter

    Hello

I don't know anything about St Andrew's History course, but LSE's course is preety much all modern international History. The most historical period you can study is the Ottoman Empire. I believe you also have to take an economic History module, and a module from another subject.

Im also a History applicant, and I turned down LSE for UCL because of the difference in course structure + contents.

I have friends who study in London and they say they love it.

Hope you make the right decision, good luck.

Would you prefer London life, or that of a small town in north-east Scotland?
