the only person who you can tell where any good will come of it, in my opinion and experience is a councillor, unless you have people who can help you through your hard times.
i used to self harm as a teenager but i had no supportive networks or people who would help, if i told them they would accuse me of attention seeking or just disregard the face or w.e

and before any small minded people chime in, self harm isnt a fashion statement, people self harm as the pain takes their mind of what is bothering them, just like people smoke or drink when their stressed

If it’s a good person to share to.. support love non judgement help. Just it not being a secret to hide can massively help reduce urges

Telling someone can release some of the burden you feel from keeping it a secret for so long and makes someone aware that you're struggling at the moment
Just be mindful that not everyone is knowledgeable about self harm and may find it difficult to understand
