I am currently taking a gap year and I want to make the most out of it during my remaining months. I want to take a normal part-time job, like cashier, clerk, etc. A silly question i have is; Is it necessary to work related to my course? I have never tried a part time job, so I wanna start from the bottom...

    Thanks

Job has 2 benefits. Money saved will help you get through the degree and have more of a social life or fewer money troubles.

Experience and skills. Its a bonus if its career related but dont worry. Will make it easier t get a job at uni if you have experience.

    Thank you for the reply

Will it still be easier to get a job at uni even if my part-time job would be a cashier? Do I need to show my list or records of what I did during my gap year to certain individuals in the future? (university, job)

Just goes on your CV. It is experience and you can emphasise the skills.
It might also increase your confidence.

I think getting a job at uni will also be helped by planning ahead. You will be someone with some work experience v someone without.

Definitely don't have to get a PT-job related to your studies, however, it would be helpful having that on your CV in the future when it comes time to apply for jobs that is related to your major.
