I'm in year 11 currently doing geography and history (+RE). They are both very interesting, but i would say geography is more content while history is split between exam technique and content which is very hard if you don't spend enough time on them. I mean i didn't believe my teacher when she said you can read books upon books about a certain period but if you don't know your exam technique you will fail - very true. I would say looking back unless you are genuinely interested in history, an unwavering interest, just take geography. But that been said they are both VERY interesting even if it is just GCSE level.

I took both History and Geography.Despite little effort I came out with 4A*'s (including History), 3 8's and 3 A's (including Geography). It's 100% doable although I found Geography duller than History. I know you don't want a 'choose what you like', but honestly that's what it comes down to at GCSE. Personally I'd say go for History as it's what you want to take anyway *and* it is more beneficial for becoming a lawyer, but at this stage it really does not matter.

    Hey,
Personally I’d say that History is far more impressive and respected than Geography. But if you prefer Geography, take it. My option subjects are French, History and Business Studies.
    My mock exam results were:
    Business: A*
    English Language: 9
    English literature: 6
    French: 6
    History: 8
    Maths: 7
    Religious Education: 8
    Science: 7/7
History is hard work, but it’s a subject I enjoy thoroughly.
My A-Level subjects will be Maths, Chemistry, Biology and History x
