I’m currently trying to revise the themes of this novel but I am finding it difficult to get key quotations with each theme? If someone would help me out as I have a mock on Friday that would be much apprenticed!

hello, just be careful not to take the words too much to heart as the above poster may be talking about a different exam board.

themes in j + h:
degeneration- hyde is considered a less evolved version of man; lack of control and conscious as well as having animalistic features. can we see him as truly evil or do we have sympathy for him also?
duality- self-explanatory. consider whether jekyll's truly good.
hypocrisy- jekyll admires his good will in the tenth chapter and putting himself above other men when really, he's just as bad.
science + religion- lanyon + jekyll dispute on jekyll's scientific pursuals. however, when lanyon witnesses the transformation of hyde to jekyll he cries out "oh god"- consider the significance of this.
