Can the University of Sheffield hierarchy explain to students like myself paying thousands of pounds to study at the university why it is permitting lectures to be disrupted by lecturers striking over their pensions? What steps if any are they taking to resolve this problem which is disrupting student's learning?

Lecturers have the right to withhold labour. It's not the university 'permitting' them to strike; it's pretty much staff from all universities (apart from the post-1992 universities) striking due to a pensions dispute.

UCU and UUK have agreed to talks. If you want to help avoid this type of industrial action from happening again, e-mail your Vice Chancellor about it.

The Board of Examiners at your university for your particular department will try and minimise the impact the strike has/will have on your exams.

    It’s better for us anyway

I’ve already missed 4 lectures for a particular module. It looks like i will miss some more in the coming weeks

We have less to learn/study/revise for and the exams will examine us on less content
