Uni Student - Cannot stop snacking watch

    Hey.

So I have a question for those living at university. I am of average build, am not unfit and run three times a weeks. Am trying to get fitter, but the problem I have is snacking. I'll be sitting at home on an evening a few hours after dinner, or during the afternoon doing some work, and I will just feel like having the odd biscuit. And then before I know it I have eaten four or five. This is similar to other snacky type things.

Does anyone have any advice for how to avoid doing this?

    Cheers,

    Tom

    1. Eat more filling main meals (higher protein and/or higher volume both make the meals more filling)
    2. eat healthy/low calorie snacks, preferably ones high in volume and low in calories (unless going under/over calories is not a issue for you)
    3. have some self control

Eat bigger portions of more filling foods. Slow burning calories (oats, potatoes etc) are ideal. Eating a lot of protein also keeps your appetite at bay which is why people consume loads of it if they are going on a low carb diet. And, as madmadmax321 says, have some self control; grow some balls and slap yourself everytime you eat a biscuit if you have to. Think with your brain, not your stomach. Or you could just build muscle instead and eat all the biccies you want, that's what I do. A well muscled body burns cals like a machine, even when your workout ends
