My medical school has asked all of our students to prepare a 5 minute on anything to do with the NHS, which there’ll be 3 prizes of £10 Amazon Gift Vouchers awarded for the best presentations on the day. Any interesting things I can talk about the NHS, I've only got till Friday?

you could talk about one of the areas that doesn't get a lot of recognition, like the cleaners or voluntary services.
the cleaners are the back bone of any hospital, same as the grounds staff. th if they didn't keep wards and the grounds clean and clear then doctors and nurses couldn't do their job.
the voluntary services are vital too. they help in almost every department, at one of my local hospitals they offer an escort service and without them I wouldn't have got my son to his appointment as we couldn't find the department.

Thank you! What else could I talk about? And if I were to talk about the areas that don't receive a lot of recognition, how could I make it sound more interesting? I still haven't done it yet, got to tomorrow.

when it comes to the voluntary services, you should be able to research them on your local hospital's website

Do it like a creative writing piece . For example - get the audience to imagine it's the middle of the night and they are alone in a hospital corridor, they are feeling nervous because they have so much work to do and they are worried they might not be able to finish things in time; then try and get the audience to guess who you are talking about - they will probably think junior doctor. Then add an interesting twist by saying you were talking about a cleaner. Then do the factual bit with stats etc.
