# Mechanics COM Question. watch

1. Hi, How can I find the centre of mass of the triangle? I originally thought it was
[tex](\frac{21}{2} , 3[\tex] but the answers used 11 in the y axis as their centre of mass. Anyhelp on how to find the COM of this triangle? Attachment 729578

In the y direction, the triangle is displaced 8 from BC. As a result, its y COM is 8 + 9/3.

Ohh, so you have to take all Centre of Masses from a single point. Regardless if you split the shapes up.
