I want to pursue a career in medicine so would choosing psychology put me at a disadvantage if i don't go with maths?
My tutor said that it wouldn't because it shows i'm capable of remembering content if i go with psychology.

Most universities require Chemistry and/or Biology, the third subject generally doesn't matter and Psychology is still one of the more respected subjects, so I'm gonna say no. One of my friends is studying Medicine at a Russell Group and he took psychology too. The most important thing is the grades you achieve.

Honestly I regret picking maths because I thought it would put me at an advantage. As long as you can get an A in it, I'd say go for it. Chem and Bio is what you really need tbf.
