Has anyone got any tips on how to improve the listening side of a language?
Writing and speaking are my strongest, but my listening grade is really dragging it down because half of it just sounds like throaty noise

I totally get you!! It was always the one I found hardest! The resource I would recommend is Zut. If you go into the year 12 French section, there are loads of clips from the French news and also comprehension questions about the clip you’ll have just seen, even though they’re aimed at year 12 I found they were so much help for gcse. They’ll be a bit overwhelming at first, but keep replaying them to try catch key words and phrases and you’ll be amazed at how much you improve. They also have transcripts which you can follow while listening if you want to familiarise yourself more. The website is free after 4pm, you just have to pay if you are using it in school hours (9am-4pm) but that’s fine anyway.
Also listening to the French radio is really good as well and you could watch films in French too!
