I keep thinking that whenever I spend more time not thinking about school and hanging out with friends sacrifices my marks. Because I’ve noticed that my marks do go down when I start to get more social. Might sound weird but had to get the thought off my chest.

It's not weird. Naturally if you take time away from homework or revision to hang out with friends this will have an effect on your work. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't spend time socialising. It's important to find a balance.
