Some people do use the strategy of revising only certain things but it isn't recommended. The main advice I have to give is strop procrastinating by asking for tips and get on with it. Make a plan or timetable of how you will get through it all and do a little bit everyday with breaks. Make sure you understand things and don't just learn them by heart and go over everything a few times. Yes past papers always help to practise your exam technique and timing.

I wrote edexcel and preparing a tad more for extracts that hasn't appeared or hasn't repeated in past years proved to be a successful tactic. Don't know bout CIE.
