I’m starting the Health and Social Care course for individuals families and communities in September at John moores but struggling with accommodation, looked at Liberty gardens but reading really mixed reviews which is putting me off, want it to be affordable with an ensuite, any suggestions?

Shared accom like a house? You can still get your ensuite then too (I lived in shared accom with some Uni students when I worked back in Cardiff, I had a door out to the garden which as a smoker was pretty lit). Toxteth might be an option for you too. I've heard good things about Liberty Gardens both Birmingham and Cardiff personally, the free home and contents insurance is quite nice to have too.

Would probably say mega downsides are even if you factor in bills and stuff (I think you'd be exempt from council tax) - sharing a nice house will probably work out cheaper than Liberty Gardens Liverpool, especially Prospect Point, the rules are general safety are great, but I find many students would rather have more freedom however Landlord roulette isn't much fun.

Weigh your pros and cons and work with that, don't bother with reviews, often is the case people are more likely to write badly about a negative experience than sing to the high heavens about a good one.

I had a mixed experience with shared accommodation in Brighton. The housemates made it bearable but in year three we had someone skip on three months of rent, which came out of our deposit in the end because for students, groups of people are legally considered one tenant for virtually every contract in that region.

This is a personal preference, but after that I'd shoot for a studio apartment or uni accommodation if you're able. While it can be lonely, it gets rid of the legal pressures sharing a house with other people can bring.
