Mentally ill medical student? watch

going to cut to the chase with this one. I have suffered with depression following a traumatic event about 5 years ago. I have applied to medicine and received offers, and hope to be starting my studies in September. I'm very concerned about what my mental health issues will mean once I get to uni. Will I be deemed unfit to actually become a doctor? Will I be constantly monitored? Is it actually worth telling the uni? I've checked out the GMC website but I'm not sure if that's referring to just generally feeling down or fully developed disorders.
