I have accepted an offer to study my postgraduate degree in Dundee from this September onwards.

What i'm looking for is some possible advice from any current students (undergrad or postgrad) about accommodation locations and costs.

I know there is on-campus accommodation provided by the University (Heathfield), but for a 51 week contact (which is essential) i'm paying quite a hefty price of around £7,000 for a single bed and an en-suite bathroom.

I've also had a look at Ardmuir accommodation, which is much cheaper at around £5,000. I can get a double bed for this, but i'm sharing a bathoom.

Has anyone lived here who can comment on either/both? Or who could recommend between the two? I'm also open for other good suggestions for in the area, just not more than a 20 minute walk to the university is preferred.
