They went on strike for "Bread and Peace" demanding the end of World War I, an end to Russian food shortages, and the end of czarism. Seven days later, the Czar Nicholas II abdicated and the provisional Government granted women the right to vote.
There is a reason it used to be call International Working Women's Day. Rember that as it gets packaged in a more friendly and less threatening war for exsiting power structures.

Note how they report it. While the Mail attacks her for using the C word: "Mhairi Black made an unsisterly bid for the limelight by dropping the C-word in a speech" and then focus almost entirely on Melanie Onn's speech to criminalize misogyny.
