I am not sure how feasible this is but I would have said that your best bet would be to do that sort of thing in the long, long summer holidays you get. I am not sure whether you could balance the work of LSE with the work of being a PRA. I am sure others more knowledgeable than myself may give you a different take on this however.

Sounds like you don't have to do too much work at all, by recent accounts.

Hey guys,

i know that some people at LSE work for MPs while they're studying at uni. I was just wondering what everyone's take on this was: would it be possible to do it while studying 1st year, and what's the timetable like?

Thanks,

just make sure ure not related to the mp in question....
haha I missed out on that one lol.
type in w4mp in google

haha.luckily i have NO connections whatsoever to any MPs! I just read somewhere that some students do manage to get REAL part-time jobs with MPs: only 10 hours-ish per week, and was wondering whether anyone knew of any MPs/politics-related organisations who might be interested in hiring someone of my ilk?

thanks.

I thought these kinds of positions were usually only open to graduates...

I know it sounds like a marvellous idea at the minute, but you really won't have the time. And if you do pursue it, your studies will suffer (imo).

It's probably not worth risking your grades over a job, however good the experience, experience will come especially with summer internships and various other opportunities always available. I'm sure LSELuvva would agree when I say that LSE has a variety of different organisations always on the look out for smart people and will offer positions accordingly at the end of the degree.

I expect all those people who were employed by Conway are also casting around for jobs - one of them was even a post grad at the LSE I believe!!!
