# S2 Hypothesis Testing - Inequality sign watch

1. This is probably very obvious (sorry!) but how do you know whether to use a less/more than sign as opposed to a less/more than or equal to sign? I understand how to pick a sign to use from the question, but for example, doing Jan 2002, I used P > 14 instead of more than or equal to.
2. You have to read the question properly. Based on what it says, you choose the sign. Could you upload a picture of the problem?

I just tried uploading a picture but it's not letting me. Here's a link. Edexcel Jan 2002 Q2. http://pmt.physicsandmathstutor.com/...%20Edexcel.pdf
If this doesn't work I'll type the q out
4. Oh god. Im so sorry. I just went through my old notes again, and you always use the greater than or equal to/lesser than or equal to sign. I went through all my questions and examples and it’s all like that, unless asked otherwise. Watch ‘examsolutions’ . His videos got me through stats honestly. Itll really really help.
