Hmm, interesting. These threads may be philosophically acceptable for atheists, given that they believe life lacks any preordained purpose that should be followed, hence everything is as meaningless as anything. Any religious 'Counting' partakers, present to utterly destroy my hypothesis?

CTAM is also an analogy for certain big goals you'd have in life.
For instance it demonstrates and accentuates the proverb Rome was not built in one day.
Meaning- with short steps of daily goals it is possible to attain that end mark.
since it is a type of double edged sword, it can be molded to subjectivity.

Edit :Every art and every inquiry, and similarly every action and pursuit, is thought to aim at some good; and for this reason the good has rightly been declared to be that at which all things aim.’

Hehe I know...just couldn't help it
(Noice same here! gcse français lol)
Can we not bump year-old threads perhaps:question:
also .... just because you believe things should have a purpose doesnt mean that you can count ... firstly... it IS purposeful because it allows for people to be part of something big that has a goal which is hard to achieve, it involves team work because you can only post 10 at a time before someone else has to post... it allows you to make friends (i have met some great counters on CTAM that i think a great people and would love to meet someday -- including you @skrimshankermoi ), it acts as a break for those who are stressed.. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY... it is fun and enjoyable to feel part of something.. when we get to a million, even the people that only contributed one count, contributed... and without them we would still be counting... it is an accurate example of what you can achieve with a little dedication and a little teamwork and therefore has a very important purpose... it teaches people these qualities which help in various areas of life itself while also building and being part of a friendly community.

Do you still think it has no "purpose" for theists??

@skrimshankermoi (went latina on them lmao)

As we know there are heads and tails for every coin....

CTAM
taught me a thing or two on the significance of healthy competition, made me understand what perseverance is like (as an individual counter could only count ten consécutives at a time) , gained a better perspective of socialising (helps me acclimatise to modern lingo )

Just another thing people do to fill the void until they die and become the void. I reckon.

Girl I didn’t know you were part Latina!!! That’s awesome actually. But yeah CTAM is a fun way to spend some free time with healthy competition and chat with people all over the world. It doesn’t take you away from excelling at academics or anything else “productive” and just saying that is ignorant honestly. “Oh man I spent 10 minutes of my day counting and talking to people for some laughs. I’m totally failing at life right now.” Ridiculous statement.. its all for fun. That’s it.
I sometimes question the point of them. It's not something I would spend time doing but each to their own.
Another thing I question the purpose of is bumping old threads
