    Hi everyone,

I am an IB student planning to study in the UK. I would like to study management or economics, but I do not know which one to choose. Honestly I like a little more the communication or essay part than the mathematical part, but it does not make a big difference. I would like to dedicate myself to investment banking or consulting.

I am predicted between 37-39 in the IB, and I do maths SL. Finally, I appreciate the facilities and social life.

Which 5 options should I put in my UCAS application? I appreciate all the answers, thank you for your time.

If you want to get into a better uni, you may be better off applying for Management as far fewer management courses require maths HL than Economics courses.

If you want to do Economics you need to improve or like Mathematics.

    I’d advise the following:

    Cambridge (Economics)
    Manchester (Philosophy, Politics and Economics)
    Warwick (Economics)
    Southampton (Economics)
    Nottingham (Economics)

The above programmes are very competitive, so you need to up your game and submit a very strong application.

I think in some of them I need a HL maths, for the specific entry requirements. Unfortunately I have maths at SL

The OP is only doing SL maths and not HL, they can't change that now. Cambridge, Warwick and many other universities require HL maths for economics if you're doing the IB. Stop giving the OP false hope.

Then I suggest a different set of courses.

    Cambridge: PPS
    Manchester: PPE
    Warwick: PPE
    Nottingham: PPE
    Southamptopn: PPE

I have changed my suggestion. I think PPE can be an alternative.

And what about doing management, instead of economics or ppe. Would this be an option for Investment Banking and Consulting?

I think it is okay. I just prefer more numerate courses esp when you want to go into finance.
