Falsely fined for national express bus??? watch

So I catched 2 busses with my friends, bought the ticket and sat down and everything was fine. Got off and that's it. But then I got letters saying I've been caught by an inspector with an invalid bus ticket? This doesn't make any sense, I didn't speak to any inspectors there were no inspectors?
How do they have my name and they sent these to my old address so I got them late and now the fines gone up to around £100! Now my parents don't believe me cuz it doesn't make any sense??!

Contact the company asking for more details concerning it, saying you don't understand. Is it possible its a scam? Or from before the time you've mentioned?
