Yes but so is the guy with the greatest personality who is ugly. Lmao.
It grows on you, the personality. Hence, the ugliness fades.

You ever read a book and then get really disappointed when they make the movie and the characters aren’t how you imagined them?

That’s what happens in dating in the dark, the girl imagines what the guy might look like and is then disappointed when he doesn’t look how he did in her head. Had she known what he looked like from the start things could have turned out different as she wouldn’t have built up some dream man in her head. Just a thought.

Probably unwise to use a reality TV show that screens applicants to maximise entertainment as the basis for such a drastic, and ultimately false, conclusion.

    Lmfaooooo don’t try it

    You’re pathetic
Dude you literally just admitted my appearance is severely lacking.

Women only sometimes like me because they're into butterfaces.

This has nothing to do with me though, I just found this show for the first time and it is very eye-opening.

Lasses just don't wanna shag a lad who's liable to steal her make-up.

Well I thought of that possibility too... And I see maybe Tinder dating being similar where people all use perfect pics of themselves to maximize their matches. Then when you turn up irl you have to be 100000% looking your absolute best or you're ****ed.

I prefer meeting women in nightclubs to Tinder for that reason. In nightclubs women are more willing to look past my grotesque face and accept me based on body. And they know what they're getting... So it works out quite nicely.

If it wasn't for the undercurrent of rampant misogyny, the naivete of OP regarding reality TV and how producers write it just as much as any scripted media would be almost charming.

Also generally just, the complete inability to understand the concepts of sampling bias and how this would be relevant to their specific example, and in turn how their example demonstrates it is just...mind boggling.

Just watch "Dating in the Dark". A show where people "date" in pitch black and decide whether they like each other. Then if they do, their looks are finally revealed to each other.

The men (much less shallow) are more often willing to date the slightly less physically fortunate women.

But for the women there is NO compromise. Look good or go home. Personality means NOTHING. You can have the most amazing connection with a girl, but all their brains are wired to think about is your looks, and to an extent how popular/famous you are. They instantly reject men they had amazing connections with because he was ginger, or bald, or looked like Bob the Builder.

I believe this proves that for men, appearance is everything.

I made a similar topic once....

However you are getting more hostile responses than me with your topic because you made the rookie mistake of not providing a link.

You should know that the women on here will deny it vehemently, so should have come better prepared..

    Agree with you
Are you two guys or girls?

Probably guys can't really try to interpret the show.

I'd like to believe personality matters more since I have a huge, insurmountable, catastrophic tier complex about my appearance. But at the same time I also don't like to believe in ********.

Like I said I had a similar idea but I feel it might just be wishful thinking. The obvious answer just seems to be that only the way you look matters (as a prerequisite anyway).

I think in social circles it's different because women are also attracted to your "rank" within the social circle and stuff like that. Idunno...

OP, you look good(no homo), personality is very important for some and also...why does this matter so much to you? Is getting girls your main and only goal in life?

    Thanks this is very helpful.

It's a shame that women are so much more shallow than men. I think most men can fall in love with personality...

Okay I admit that PERSONALLY I can't, because I physically cannot get hard for average girls. But that's something I have NO control over so I don't think I can be blamed for this (even with Cialis or Viagra).

MOST guys though, you'll see in the show, don't care so much about the way the girl looks.

Men are all about looks > personality, so I find most of the time.

Personally, idk how men make it work with pretty women with a sh1t personality? But then, I don't have to deal with it so 'tis all cool.

They don’t really. They hump and dump or they just cheat on her and dgaf. Or...they’re beta af and see her as superior to them or something so they just take it.

Just my 2 cents. I don’t date atm so I might be wrong. But I’d never date a girl with a horrible personality no matter how good she looked.

Most likely, don’t see how it would last otherwise. Unless the guy also has a atrocious personality or something:laugh:

    Same here.

If I dislike her personality then there's no way i'm i'm going to date her even if she's stunning. I actually lose attraction pretty quick for women with horrible personalities, ...and also women with arrogant personalities/prestige princess personalities...
