This may vary by spec but for AQA you are presented with 2 different unseen poems. Theres 2 questions, one thats is solely focused on one of the poems and the seconds which asks you to compare them.

Other specs may be similar but I can't say that for sure

(I sat the (9-1) AQA Eng Lit last year)

Define what you mean by 'structure'... are you talking about how to answer it?

    Yes
NOTE: This can vary by question.

For the first unseen poem it may ask you to comment on a certain theme of the poem. As this is 24 marks, I would suggest writing 3-4 detailed paragraphs that must include quotes from the poem. There isn't a right or wrong, so make sure you go in depth as you may think of a really good but rather complex idea

For the second question, they will ask for you to compare the similarities and differences in the two poems such as the portrayal of a certain theme or idea. This is only 8 marks, so 2 paragraphs would be suitable as long there is sufficient references to the poem and enough detail in them.

But the most important is to make sure you answer both clearly and give enough time to answer them.
