I was wondering if this is right you know when the inspector arrives the lighting apparently goes hard and brighter. Could I possibly say the lighting could metaphorically represent the inspector Goole? Could the light have a powerful connotation of exposing the faults and guilt of each character? If this is fine what quote about lighting could I use?

Yeah. It can reflect the interrogation of the Birling family- as the light has connotations to interrogation.

I like your interpretation of the light and how it exposes the characters.

Sorry about the quote- i did my GCSE last year; though i'm sure that it says something about 'harsh lightning' so foreshadowing the hardships the Birling family will be going through during the interrogation

I don’t know that might be reading into it a bit too far. Maybe put it in an essay and see what your teacher says?
