    Determining which metal is present? There are different ways to determine it without using a flame but that's usually the easiest and probably safest way we did in chemistry.

    Yeah, that sort of metal test. I'm doing a project where I'd like to be able to show the different flame colours but am not permitted to use naked flames - do you have any alternatives? Thanks
